„Pole – Hungarian, two nephews for fighting and drinking” – it is a proverb popular in Poland and in Hungary. For almost a thousand years Poland bordered with Hungary as Slovakia was a part of Hungary and this was the peaceful border. We exchanged kings, saints and national heroes. And we raised toasts with the same Hungarian wine. Apart from that, our history has been similar. Maybe this is the reason why we understand Hungary better than anybody else does, even though we do not understand their language which we will probably never have learnt.
